Which was thankfully extended an hour this lovely night. Still dumb though, but we won't get into that. We're focusing on awesome here.

Tonight was the birthday party of my ever wonderful compadre, Bennett. I was very sad to leave and so was everyone there, Peter almost didn't let me. And like every party, it was games, movies/anime aaaaaand booze. I don't drink (despite the insane peer pressure I face), but I'll be damned if watching my friends get smashed isn't completely hilarious. This was definitely a good way to end my winter break.

Those who did drink, played the Gurren Lagann drinking game which I think was drink for every mention (or visual) of Spirals, Bros, Combining, Believing in yourself or yourself who believes in me who believes in you, Kamina pointing at the sky, Yoko's excessive boob jigglage and "who the hell do you think we are?". Much like the Tenchi Muyo drinking game it did not take people long to put a few dranks in them. There was also Silent Football, there's never not Silent Football. Though nobody had the attention span to finish a game.

I really love these hang outs. I get to see people I hardly see and catch up on whatever crazy shit is going on in people's lives. Once again, Mike delivers the best tales.

AND GUYS. I'M SOCIALIZING MORE. I PARTICIPATE IN CONVERSATIONS. ITS WONDERFUL. I'm painfully shy in big groups, even with the people I see all the time I talk the least. BUT I'M GETTING OVER IT. I've gradually gotten better in the last two years but I feel like it's significantly more noticeable, or at least I'm noticing it. I'm super proud of myself. You don't even know.

PICTURES. I take the best photos, and by the best I mean the other thing.

Yeaaaaaah. Good times. I had too many sodas, I'm completely wired.

In between laser tag and theater, today's adventuring party watched Harry Potter 6 because that movie is awesome. Scarlott's house was expectantly chilly so I claimed the blanket on the edge of the couch. I was snacking before hand so my soda and the bag of gold fish were on the table in front of me. A couple minutes later I wished to indulge myself with snacks once more but I was faced with a conundrum: How was I do enjoy my delicious junk food without being cold again? I could stay warm and cozy under the blanket or I could take my arms out and let in the cold.

It was at that very moment things became very clear to me: "Man if only this blanket had sleeves, all my problems would be solved!"

I UNDERSTAND THE SNUGGIE. I kind of want one. Blankets with sleeves? Genius. I would never buy one, but hot damn if I ever received one as a gift!

Other than my blanket epiphany today was action packed. Laser tag, Harry potter, topped off with the Company Alum's production of The Complete Word of God: Abridged (by the same people who did Shakespeare Abridged which Company did my soph year of high school). Got to see the old comedy director Mr. A again, as well as Steven Abts who I have not seen in like 5 years. What a great guy.

Parting words: "What's the difference between ignorance and apathy?" "I don't know and I don't care"

I'm bored, so I've compiled a list of the top 10(ish) movies I have most enjoyed seeing in the theater this past year.

1) Fantastic Mr. Fox
2) Inglourious Basterds
3) Up
4) Coraline
5) Princess and the Frog
6) Harry Potter 6
7) Ponyo
8) Where the Wild Things Are
9) Avatar/Sherlock Holmes (tied)
10) Star Trek/Zombieland (tied again)

More or less the order in which I enjoyed them. You might disagree with some of these, maybe the plot wasn't to your taste or the writing or acting left something to be desired but hell these were all extremely fun to watch. And thats what I want if I'm going to pay 10 bucks to sit in a theater for 2 hours. Mr. Fox was definitely a surprise, I never expected it to be that good. I wish I could add Bunny and the Bull to this list but it was never released in America and I cant find a download for the life of me.

And for more funzies, movies I'm looking forward to this year:
-Scott Pilgrim vs The World
-Paul
-The Worlds End
-How to Train Your Dragon
-Iron Man2
-Despicable Me
-Harry Potter 7 part 1
-Kick Ass (I gotta get my hands on the comic)
-Get Him to the Greek
-Toy Story 3
-Burke and Hare

Someone call me out on this if I'm in the wrong.

So my little brother has recently started to actually listening to music that isn't video game soundtracks and keeps asking me to dump a bunch of songs on his itouch.

I don't want to give him anything. Yeah, part of this is me being a selfish sister. But it's also that i want him to develop his own taste in music and go through the process of looking for bands and finding CDs. The majority of my small amount of money I had in highschool went to CDs and comic books. Sure I took music from my friends, but I always had music to give them in return. He's in highschool, he has friends who probably listen to decent music. He has itunes gift cards, he should use them to find new music not download stupid apps and expect me to just hand him my library of 6,000+ tunes.

I know music is expensive, but COME ON, you gotta search/pay for some music on your own.

I don't really have a whole lot to look forward to this christmas and I don't exactly care for holiday cheer and what not. I'm feeling very "eh" about the usually jolly season.

Jaded much?

My hair color looks like crap.

It's faded a lot and has started to really turn an awkward turquoise green, I really should have done something about it like a month ago. My mom came home with a bleaching kit the other day and left it in my bathroom as a subtle hint that she wants me to go back to blonde. They're worried about what the family/friends think especially since the christmas cards got sent out and people are talking about it because parents have nothing better to do then talk about their kids. It's not like I'm trying to be rebellious, actually I would be lying if I said that irritating my parents wasn't a little bit satisfying. But I could be a lot worse. In all honesty I just like having blue hair, really. It's a good look for me. Bugging my parents is just a small bonus.

So my bangs are still fairly bright so I figured I'd take advantage of the free bleach and try to bleach out all the green and end up with blonde accented with blue in the front. Didn't quite go according to plan and the store brand didn't do the best job, so my hair color is... patchy. Parts of it are blonde, parts are turquoise parts are blue. It's a mess. My parents are really stressing that they hate the blue which upsets me because I really like having this color but at the same time I hate confrontation and do pretty much everything in my power to avoid it. Which is why I figured blonde with partial blue until I go back to school would be a relatively good compromise. So right now my options are get it professionally bleached out or figure out where I put my bottle of dye and reblue all of it. Obviously I want to reblue, but that's hard when the family is always breathing down my neck. I think their excuse is I'm supposed to be looking for work or something. I don't know. (do need to get caught up on commissions though)

Muuuhhh. This is so retarded I shouldn't have to blog about this. Clearly I just need to wait till I'm home alone or go to a friend's house and dye my hair and my parents can suck it up and deal with it. BUT WILL I ACTUALLY DO THAT? That's an extremely good question.

1. What did you do in 2009 that you’d never done before?
Tried alcohol. Tasted my uncle's home made wine, small amount of Baily's at Lily's Halloween, and a glass of apple cinnamon infused whiskey on actual Halloween. Conclusion: alcohol is still not my thing, but it's not all bad.

2. Did you keep your new years’ resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Yeah, made progress on some story lines. Not as many comic pages drawn as I would have liked but enough where I don't regret anything.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Nope.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
Nope.

5. What countries did you visit?
Just this one. Though mentally I've been in England for quite a while.

6. What would you like to have in 2010 that you lacked in 2009?
A car on campus and an external hard drive.

7. What dates from 2009 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
Wondercon weekend complete with meeting Nuka and Shawn for the first time, Tenchi Muyo party, Spammalot, Wicked, Comic Con (specifically meeting the Mighty Boosh, made my life), my first Renn Faire, Andrew WK show/meeting, Dethklok show/meeting Brendon Small.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Meeting the Mighty Boosh uh-duh and the creation of Sherlock Hogs. Also seeing my work published was pretty huge. New Gothology volume due out hopefully in February! Oh and my first real animation!

9. What was your biggest failure?
Not finding new friends earlier in the year. Though I think I may have found new people who actually want to hang out with me on a regular basis. Only time will tell.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Sick a few times mostly due to lack of sleep but it never lasted longer than like a day. As for injury, walking back to my dorm in the freezing cold after Dethklok was one of the most painful things ever. My joints did not want to move. I can't forget the powerful headache from being kicked in the head several times by crowd surfers either :D

11. What was the best thing you bought?
Comic Con tickets, The Mighty Boosh Box set, knee high converse, blue hair dye.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Everyone, my friends were all awesome this year.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Some friends of friends. Not worth naming though, it's over.

14. Where did most of your money go?
Comic Con/Disneyland EASILY.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
A lot of things, but the Mighty Boosh OF COURSE. When I found out I called Erin right away. When she got my message she said I sounded like a 14 year old girl just found out the Jonas Brothers were going to play a private show in her backyard.

16. What song will always remind you of 2009?
"Party Hard" Andrew WK

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
a) happier or sadder? Bout the same
b) thinner or fatter? lol same, I never had any weight to lose and I never eat so there's no way to gain anything.
c) richer or poorer? I'm an art student. What do you think?

18. What do you wish you’d done more of?
Draw more Three Cheers stuff, read, more vidja games. Granted with the accumulation of a DS and both Laytons I've probably played more games in this year than the last three years combined.

19. What do you wish you’d done less of?
Working at that damn burrito hell.

20. How will you be spending Christmas?
With the family like always. Though I want to try and see Sherlock Holmes with friends, because I never get to see my friends on xmas.

21. Did you fall in love in 2009?
nope.

22. How many one-night stands?
none

23. What was your favorite TV program?
Doctor Who and Glee! I also found Black Books.

24. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?
I dont really hate anyone, but there are a few people I dont talk to anymore for good reason.

25. What was the best book you read?
Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff by Christopher Moore.

Andrew WK and Super Mash Bros

The chance to meet my heroes, blue hair, Professor Layton, a working tablet

Up, Fantastic Mr Fox, Where the Wild Things Are, Harry Potter 6, Princess is a Frog, Inglorious Basterds

Couple friends came over, hang outs and Wizard People.

31. What is one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Not working in Burrito Hell.

32. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2009?
Could you be any more scene? I mean really just look at you.

33. What kept you sane?
Adventure Team/Cake Patrol and Comic Con

34. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
I dont really fancy anybody, but I'm sure you can make a good guess as to who I've obsessed over/met.

35. What political issue stirred you the most?
A BLACK SHERIFF? Actually I didn't really care.

36. Who did you miss?
All my buddies in New York who I got to hang out with this year. I did not see enough of any of you.

37. Who was the best new person you met?
Made a few new friends/met some celebs but other than that no one's really made a huge impact. Though meeting Nanuka for the first time irl was definitely a treat.

38. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2009:
Don't be a dick.

39. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:
"If I had the chance I'd ask the world to dance and I'm dancing with myself oh-oh-oh-oh!" -Billy Idol

2009 has been a good year, not as absolutely perfect as 2008, but a damn good year indeed.
I think there's movie times at Matt's tonight. Yay.

School is nearly over and I dont have a whole lot to worry about now.

My art book is done which was the biggest cause of my stress, and I'm getting a pretty good amount of sleep these days which is wonderful. My color theory final is due on Friday, which I havent really started but I plan on waking up earlyish tomorrow and working through until it's done. Then I have my math final and make up quiz on Tuesday, which shouldnt be a problem either. All I need to do is get a B on both and I'll keep my B in the class. We also get a page of notes to help us on the final so I'm not really worried. My studying for that will probably do the extra make up quiz and the practice final she has up on her website and I'll be good to go.

I really can't wait to get out of here. The first thing I'm going to do when I get home is re-read the Harry Potter series. *is on such an HP kick* And of course finish all the xmas ATCs. I got 20 of 22 sketched because apparently I'm ambitious and want to show my friends I actually care. They look awesome so far. I think I'm just going to do really nice flats since shading them all might take to long. I also still need to do that Xmas card I promised Erin and Bennett...which isn't going to be exactly what they wanted but I'll draw them something else to make it up to them so whatever.

Should also mention that a couple days ago, The Animation Show of Shows tour came to my campus. So me and all the animation/illustration majors got to watch 12 different animated shorts in the auditorium. My god they were so inspiring.

Speaking of animation...SEEING THE PRINCESS IS A FROG ON FRIDAY. I AM EXCITE.
